I was a little bit of a nerd and I loved the original Tron. I think it was because it was one of the first movies I remember sitting there with my dad and watching. I knew he liked the movie so I wanted to go out and see this one. My wife didnt want to see it and I didnt want to subject her to it since she though the first one was dumb. So when her mom said she wanted to see it and we found an IMAX and 3D place to see it at we took the chance last night.
There was some cool parts to it. The 3D still wasnt all that great in the movie since it was shot in 2D and then enhanced. But since the screen was so big if you took the glasses off it was a fuzzy picture. Things didnt pop out at me as much but it did seem somewhat better than 2D but nothing to warrant the price in my opinion still. But on the IMAX the 3D was a bit more noticable.
As for the movie it looked like Jeff Bridges face was taken from the old movie and used as Clu just maniputlated digitally so it looked fresh. Jeff Bridges was in it as well and he didnt do to bad. The boy in it was alright. For all you House fans 13 was in it and she did alright too. The beginning was catch up of the story which I thought could have been better. Then you got into "the grid" and "games" a bit. It was sort of short lived and then there was more story...and more story...and a tiny bit of action and more story...then a tiny bit action and then an ending. I wont spoil it but the ending was one that wasnt really clear if it was ended for sure or if it left it open for more.
So all in all it was an alright movie but I did leave longing for less story and more Tron action...if I didnt make that clear already so this for me barely would make 3 stars which is sad. Im not a huge action movie fan but I think they could have made it better with more. Thats what I was going to see and didnt get it.
