Movie Reviews for Recent Movies

WALLE E (G) just plain good family entertainment
The same person who was the creative mind behind Bug's Life, Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Monsters Inc, Toy Story movies and more headed up this project

The story is about a robot how while compiling garbage on abandoned earth finds a plant and another robot and the adventure begins. I did not think this movie would take me where it did. The first 2/3's of the movie there isnt even any talking. It is rather brilliant and bold risk that is taken in this movie but it was great. I really enjoyed it. Andrew Stanton is a genius!

Hancock (PG-13) action violence and language
Hancock is a bad boy superhero. It fails to deliver the attitude the movie Bad Boys did also staring Will Smith. It was interesting to get a different take on the life of a superhero and a twist at the end that was somewhat predictable but I enjoyed anyway. The movie was better than ok but not thrilling. If you are planning to take the kids please be aware of two F words being said in the movie. One of which was uttered by anti-vulgerity Will Smith which was surprising to me. Hope he sticks with what he has believed till recently it appears.

The Love Guru (PG-13) for language and adult humor
This is a mike myers movie. It was very funny about a lot of things and believe it or not there was some good advice from a "guru". The adult humor was very crude at times as Mr Myers has his specialty, but I laughed out loud several times and it was overall funny. Not recommened for kids or those you dont like crude humor at all.

Vantage Point (PG-13) violence and mild language
This was a great movie. It is a story about the assassination of the President of the USA. The movie shows the prespective of several key individuals before it finally gives what happened. So honestly the movie is really only about a 15 minute time frame at the most but it is a full length movie because it shows 5-6 different perspectives and then shows you what really happened. I loved it! It made you think of what was really happening because each person saw things differently. Brilliant way to do a movie. Even though the ending is predictable it throws you for a bit of a loop with the perspectives it gives you.

Vantage point was awsome! There is some language and violence so make sure to screen before you let your kids watch but it was very well done!

We really liked Vantage Point and it is so true that our perception is our reality, especially when it comes to communicating with another person. We have yet to see Batman because if our kids hear we've gone, they'll want to go as well and no way until the edited version is available. Just heard it's still #1 at the box office, now in 3rd place all time.
