The Hostel Skies

In recent years and as well all know the skies havent been so friendly to those companies who fly them. Bankrupty, pilot strikes and increase cost of fuel have taken their toll. Frankly Im not surprised since it is a costly way to transport anyway.
It seems to me the best companies to benefit from "go green" and alternative fuels would be airlines and automotive makers. They are the ones that can re-invent themselves. Airlines lower their costs and increase profits. Car makers will increase their profits since we as consumers will save the money.
Recently American Airlines (AA) had to ground 1000 flights around the world because one particular model of plane had wire issues that if over heated would cause the planes to catch fire. AA is not a victim of FAA regulators. They had 18 months to do something about this before flights were grounded. For 18 months our safety has been in questions without our knowledge and this is what it had to come to. AA filed for bankruptcy last year and they didnt make these changes. Read the article here.
Delta and Northwest have agreed to merge and all the terms have been excepted except the parts for pilots for both sides. It also has to go to Anti-Trust approval as well since it would be the worlds largest airline. Even Jetblue a "discount" carrier is having financial struggles now. Southwest and a triage of companies increase costs of baggage, booking on the phone, multidestinations and unacompanied minors.
