K and I were having a conversation and she got frustrated with me and accused me of not listening. Not uncommon for most men and women in a marriage. I mean we are different after all. We act, think and understand differently.
She was telling me about a work situation and I started to ask what I thought were clarifying questions and questions that helped keep the conversation going and she got frustrated with me and said I wasnt listening. So I turned the phone to her mom. She started talking to her about it and her mom asked the same questions I did just phrased different and it was all fine.
After I got back on the phone with her I told her that I was listening and asked the same questions just in a different way. She said well you just didnt listen to me. I said "no I dont speak girl speak. That's the problem". My daughter upon hearing this comes up to me and looks me in the eye and says "if you dont speak girl speak how are you going to understand me".
I said to her "I dont know babes, I guess we just do the best we can".
It was quite a funny exchange.
