Trip to Red Rocks

We went as a family to see Red Rocks Ampitheatre. It is really nice out there and it is pretty cool how it formed like that. It seems that the natural Rocky Mountains was pushed up as the ones we see today were formed. Or so geologists say. As they did that and wind and water erosion happened it formed a pit with rocks on all sides.

When the depression high President Roosevelt in conjunction with the city of Denver had workers lay cement and the benches that stand today. Thus an outdoor concert facility was born. It was tested with opera singers of which one said it was "the greatest out door opera house in the world".

I just think it is great from a geological stand point though I would love to go to a concert there. It was fairly warm that day and we had a lot of fun looking at the rock formations there.

It is located just to the east of a nice small town of Morrison, CO. It is a cute town with little shops and home town stores and resturaunts. We ate at the Morrison Inn which served mexican food, but it wasnt all that great.
