Bits and Pieces

I feel like im all bits and pieces lately.  Yes we got the job in Redmond with AT&T.  It will be exciting and thanks to a good friend I have a lot more hope for the future than I even had before today!  It is a lot of work trying to find cheapest rates on things like insurance and all other associated costs to move.  I also find myself frustrated tying to make plans when people and things keep changing the plan.  So this whole move business is definately bits and pieces and for the birds for sure! After all some migrate anyway right?

So much has been happening and I dont even know where to start so it would be like just giving you bits and pieces so it is pointless for me even to begin to give them to you cus they would be out of sorts.  For now bed time and hopefully a restful night!

DON'T go with a moving company. Don't do it. We got screwed, royally with ours. It's just so expensive and we didn't even have kids so we had a lot less to move. RENT a U-Haul. That is the best, most affordable way to go. Seriously. You will regret it if you go with a moving company.

Here's what I wished we would have done:

1) Don't buy new moving boxes-total money waster. Go on Craigslist if you need more boxes. The only thing I would buy new are these plastic sleeves that U-haul sells to put your glasses/dishes in so they don't scratch or break.

2) Down-size. Sell or donate everything you know is just accumulating and you don't need.

3) Rent a U-haul. Drive your stuff yourself. Our moving company broke a lot of things.

4) You need to buy from U-Haul a big roll of plastic that you wrap around your furniture so the corners don't get dinged.

5) If people offer to help, take them up on it. But do all the packing yourself and use people to help you organize the boxes/furniture into the truck. 5-6 really men from the Elders' Quorum would be great.

Blake, seriously call my husband Brandon if you want information on the cost of moving. We had such a bad experience moving out to Western Washington and when we moved this time to the Eastern part of the state, it went so much better. Brandon's number is: 801-803-3232. He knows you.

Also, Tri-Cities, in Kennewick is a good rest point. You'll probably want to pull over in 1) Boise, Idaho, 2) Kennewick, WA (that's where I live) and 3) Arrive in Redmond. Let me know the dates of your move.
