Boo at the Zoo

We took the kids to Boo at the Zoo this year. They can dress up in their costumes and then trick or treat for businesses who set up booths around the zoo for a promotion for their business. It is designed to increase money and attendence at the zoo while these businesses get advertisement.

Most everything was inside and we didnt get to see it. Most of the monkeys were gone and lots of the places closed before we could get through the whole zoo. J'alee said her favorite were the pink birdies. Pink flamingos from Chile.

There were no penguins to see cus they were inside this year but here is how they measure up to a penguin. It reminded me of when we went to the aquarium in Connecticut and J'alee was as big as a Macaroni Penguin.

K wanted to see the Giraff's and we got there just in time before they locked the doors to go in. There is a little on in the center with it's mama! Baby J tried to crawl under the railing to get through to their cages.

A lot of the animals he would just point his finger at, clap his hands and just babble on and on. It was so cute to see him do that. The kids had a lot of fun.

Most all of the Zoo staff were all dressed up. They had radio stations there dressed up. One station were the Ghostbusters with guns packs and even their car with a satellite dish on the top with the Ghostbusters logo on the doors. Another were all dressed up in Strom Trooper costumes. It was funny to see little Jedi trick or treaters try and get pictures with them and were all scared. J'alee did see one costume that she liked a frog. So of course the Princess had to give the frog a kiss and turn him into a Prince.

We wish you all a happy Halloween, safe trick or treating. Many communities, churches and wards will do a trunk or treat or trick or treat street thing which I think are great and could potentially be safer than going door to do. But remember cool costumes are fun especially for kids, but when you dress your 4 year old up like an Umpa Lumpa please dont dye their hair green and paint their face orange. HA! We did see that at the Zoo!
