Education Week

We got to take time off this week and head down to BYU for Education Week. We go every year and we just love it. It is a good time to learn about things and recharge a bit leisurely and spiritually. It is quite fun to go to.
Among my favorite speakers were Randal Wright, Carrie Wrigley. I took classes on how to find scholarships for college and I must say that i never knew all the ins and outs that you can do in order to get some money. I am confident I can get some even with my weak sauce gpa and act scores.
Randal Wright taught about things we can do in our homes to have a better family life. He talked about forming our homes like the temple, following the teachings of the prophets, expressing love in their homes and being there for our kids at comings/goings and the critical times when they come home from school and much much more. He was very funny and had a lot of insights too. That is what you get from a life long Insitute/Seminary teaching.
Carrie Wrigley works with LDS Family services and is a Family Counselor with them and had great insights in the genetic differences between men and women that make us different. The differences are small but have a big impact, these include the brain and obviously hormones and how they act. She talked about how those two opposites can work together in harmony.
We also had a pool in the housing complex that we went to and the kids and us got to go swimming. I forgot to put sun screen on the first day and got a nasty burn. The kids of course I remembered to get it on so they didnt get burned. J'alee has said that she wants to move to the pool house several times a day since we left.
