Movie Forecast 2008

So I got bored at work and looked at the dismal future of movies for 2008. It seems like the first part of the year will shape up to be just like 2007 over all... disappointing. There are a few highlights.
Spiderwick Chronicles in Feb
Horton Hears Who in March
Leatherheads - aging Clooney place a football star with the hots for a reported Rene Zellweger. Im not convienced that the duo is going to work.
The Night Watchman - a story of LAPD corruption staring Keanu Reaves, Forest Whitaker, and Dr. House (Hugh Laurie) himself.
88 Seconds - if you liked movies like Insomnia then you will like this FBI forensic psych movie.
Iron Man - another comic people try to make into a movie staring Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow. Not sure this one is going to cut it.
Speed Racer - this tv cartoon comes to the big screen with Christina Ricci and Mathew Fox (from the tv show Lost) as voice. This one isnt too interesting people but props for the tv show creation.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - same people as the first but includes Warwick Davis everyones favorite peck peck peck peck peck. Good to see some honest and good LDS people in movies, thanks Davies for representin' yo.
Indiana Jones: and the Kingdom of the Crystal - Yes it does start Harrison Ford (wouldnt be an Indy without him) and co-stars Cate Blanchette and the ever popular Shia LaBeouf (Transformers, Holes, Disturbia). George Lucas lent his hand at writing this one and Spielburg is directing so you know they brought the talent all around. Will this movie be good to anymore except the Ford grandkids is yet to be seen.
The Incredible Hulk - a rehash of the comic (done by X-Men series director)
The Happening - an natural diseaster movie my M. Night Shyamalam with Mark Walhburg and John Leguizamo.
Get Smart - a tv remake most people are talking about with Steve Carrell (The Office), Anne Hathaway, and Alan Arkin
Wall-e - Andrew Stanton film (creator of Bugs Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Incredibles and Ratatioullie) is a movie about a robot who works for 700 years doing what he is programed to but finally learns who he is.
Summer Movies:
Hancock - superhero spoof movie with Will Smith and Charlize Theron might turn out dull.
The Dark Night - sequal to Batman Begins and starring Christian Bale as the bat himself the late Heath Ledger as joker
Mamma Mia - in the spirit of musicals this one hits the screens with heart throb Pierce Brosnan leading the way with Meryl Streep.
Untitled X-Files Sequel - the return of the unexplained is back with Douchvey, and Andersen teaming up again fighing for a smoke free America... (hope you caught that joke)
The Mummy: Tumb of the Dragon Emperor - Brendan Frasier is back but his wifey isnt. Jet Li is making an evil appearance in this one.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 - not excited for the movie but I am excited about Ugly Betty star America Ferrera making it to the big screen she is a great actress!
Nights in Rodanthe - from the author of The Notebook Diane Lane and aging Richard Gere star in this romance movie that may have some potential.
Valkyrie - A movie about an attempt to assassinate Hitler is good anytime right, wrong. It isnt any good when it stars Tom Cruise.
Which takes us to October 3rd and all the releases annouce that I have heard about. Hopefuly we can get a some more good movies to save the coming year. I mean we didnt even get a decent one for Scorcesse. He is giving us the snoozer documentary about the ancient Rolling Stones this year.
Already there is hope for 2009, I mean Disney is ready to save at least the children with Toy Story 3 and yes it does have Hanks and Allen back as voice. I mean good thing cus toys save everyone, thank you disney..... ? ? ?
