The kids were mesmerized by the whale and loved watching him. It was great to be so close. Something is up with my camera because it was definitely better than is pictured here. These pictures as also not edited. Here are the boys watching the whale. I didnt picture J'alee because she was so close to the whale and the splashing was about to start. We all sat in the splash zone. J'alee was second row and us boys decided to move up to row 8.
The whale comes out and the first wave splashes a lady and her daughter that sat down 25 seconds before and pulled out their phones for what I imagine are photos worth about $300 bucks for a new smart phone. Needless to say she moved real fast after that. That lady and her daughter got the force of the wave and J'alee got the short side of the wave getting her mostly drenched. The whale came in for a tail splash and drenched J'alee head to toe and some wave made it up to our feet, a little extra above but mostly mist and a few drops.
Well as you can see the mesmerized looks turned into something else as I turned to look to see how wet the kids were. First is my little booger. So excited clapping and smiley reduced to tears because he didnt like the water in his face. Follow the progression of shots.
Baby J was a little less dramatic, only because I could get him to control his emotions more than a 1 year old baby. First we started out a little bugged with the squinted eyes and lowered fat lip.
Then we get to frustration maybe a little anger
Then blame on the whale, or maybe even me for having him sit by me in the splash zone.
Then the crying...or fake crying as I like to call it. You know when your child really doesnt need to, want to or feel like crying just do it for no reason.
All in all it was a nice day and the whale was fun. A few more splashes came but we were free and clear up top. I think J'alee got hit with 3 or 4 waves and was shivering the rest of the show. We did change her super fast afterwords. But let me tell you, a man changing his daughter in a men's bathroom at Six Flags in Vallejo, CA is not only sticky, gross and difficult but it is awkward and brings feelings of paranoia.
