Although it isnt shown there a machine shoots a hockey puck at you if you put your hand in a glove so you can feel and see how fast the puck comes at you. Thanks to the San Jose Sharks you also have a goalie uniform and mask here to take cool pics in. Dont these two look awfully mean?
Next was a bobsled with a video game screen to go down a track on. I got to see what the handles for stearing were like. Although the sled wouldnt rock left to right it was kind of fun to see how to control the thing. I never knew before just liked watching it on the olympics.
Of course you have to include flight into tech advances and why not have an airplane you can laydown in the cockpit for kids? It is cool. This didnt include the huge space station they had and joystick to control a moon robot that was on a moon exhibit.
Perhaps one of my favorite things was the chance you got to sit and get your head scanned. Yes Im crazy! But this was to give you a 3D image of your head that you could go to a computer and play around with. I thought it was fun for pictures to play with light a bit so here it is. This light rotates around your head as you sit there to scan your head.
Of course the girl likes getting the picture and the boy just hates it. Just look at that face! Is he mad, is he scared or is he just trying to figure out what in the world is that thing.
My beautiful sweetie gets a turn too. I found it interesting how the light was falling on her face that way. Perhaps it is a bit of a washout there but it was fun to shoot to see how light fell on each of them.
Last picture to share. I know it was almost as long as going through the whole museum itself. But this isnt a good photo but it is of a cool thing. this is a platform that was built for people to go on and to experience a simulation of an earthquake. We got our turn and wouldnt you know it 7.8 earthquake from Seattle in 2001. That was far too familiar of a feeling for me since I was in the '87 quake here in cali and also more recently the one in mexico a few months back we felt in L.A.
There was an imax theatre there and it was cool to see a ocean movie. If you wanted to pay $12 bucks you could go to see Eclipse there but why waste the $12 on that movie. If you want IMAX go when there is a decent movie out!
